Love for Lily

Imagine this little girl lived in your community.

Imagine that she lived in a house where everyone was addicted and consuming drugs and alcohol.

Imagine that there is no one attending to her needs physically, mentally, or spiritually.

Imagine this little girl being locked away in a closet in the dark with no food, nothing to drink…just left alone with no supervision.

Meanwhile there are several adults just outside of that closet consuming heroin, crack, and alcoholic products…giving no attention to the child locked in the closet.

I need for you to stay with me.

Further imagine that at some point, the child you see in this picture is abandoned by the only person she should be able to trust to protect her – her mother.

I promise there is a happy ending to this story.

But imagine that her father is in a drug rehabilitation center, and one morning he wakes up, days away from completing the program…and his abandoned child is at the doorstep of the center…left only to him.

While you can only imagine the scenario I described to you, this actually happened to this child. At the tender age of only 6 years old, Lily has seen crime, violent acts, drug usage and other horrors that you have only probably heard of or seen on TV.

Lily and her father came to us through one of our ministry partners. Her father was forced to leave the program before its completion and find housing for the both of them. Lily had nothing…no clothes, no underwear, no toiletries, no shoes, no hair supplies, no bed. Though her father was able to find housing through a family member, he was not able to provide the bare necessities for Lily.

We at ImageMakers Ministries were compelled to show the love of Jesus and meet their need. Because of your generosity, we were able to provide clothing, underwear, shoes, toiletries, a bed, and even a few toys.

Accounts such as Lily's are not foreign to us. Unfortunately, Baltimore has one of the highest rates of homeless children, and many of them are under the age of 10 years old.

Will you join us?

We need you to join us to combat this social ill that is happening right before our very eyes. Though you may not be confronted with this despondency in your daily life, does not negate the fact that it exists for so many who have been subjugated to hopelessness.

We can't do this on our own. The desperation is so great.

We need your help as we continue to meet the need. We need your prayers, your resources and your finances as we continue to help our homeless children and teenagers.

This is only one story out of many and we are committed to the cause.

We understand that inflation has gripped many households, but God is still God. As believers in a mighty and awesome God, it is our responsibility to help those in a greater need than we are.

His Word clearly states in Luke 6:38 (NKJV):

Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put in your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Will you take the step of faith in action and partner with us to help children such as Lily?
